Which flooring is right for you?
Start with what will happen on the floor. Where weights may be dropped, choose thick rubber. For general training areas and high-traffic spaces, interlocking PVC tiles are quick to lay and easy to clean.

How to choose gym flooring
- Dropped weightsIf weights will be dropped, use rubber flooring. It protects both the floor and your equipment.
- Measure in square metresRubber comes in 1 m² pieces and PVC is sold per m², 9 tiles to the metre. Measure the area and round up.
- EdgesPVC edging is sold separately. It has a bevelled, non-slip design for a neat finish and safe access.
- Laying and movingDura Mat tiles clip together over existing tiles or flooring, and can be lifted and re-laid elsewhere.
Gym flooring questions
Which flooring is best for free weights?
Rubber flooring. Our heavy-duty rubber is 20 mm or 25 mm thick and is made to protect your floor and equipment when weights are dropped.
How much flooring do I need?
Measure the length and width of the area in metres and multiply them to get square metres. Rubber flooring comes in 1 m² pieces, and Dura Mat PVC is sold per m² (9 tiles).
Can I lay PVC tiles myself?
Yes. Dura Mat tiles have an interlocking design that clips together, and they can go over existing tile or flooring. They can be lifted and re-laid if you move.
Can I see the flooring before I buy?
